Originally from Uganda but born and raised in London, Ivan moved to Geneva over ten years ago. He holds two degrees in Marketing Design and Media Communications with Journalism and has a wealth of marketing and communication experience acquired over several years working for Kempinski Hotels, Phillip Morris, various NGOs and most recently at the International Labour Organization where he oversaw all of their external comms output.
At the Secretariat of the Convention on Wetlands, he leads and assists the functions of the Communications team to enhance the organization’s visibility and reach. This involves crafting, developing and implementing key messages across platforms that not only informs our contracting parties on related issues but to also provide a source of information for those with a keen interest in wetland conservation around the world. He is working extensively on COP14 and the lead-up to World Wetlands Day 2023 in February.
He is a keen lover of sports, music, arts and travelling.
