Wetlands are rich reservoirs of biodiversity that are vital for humanity and nature to thrive with 40% of the world’s plant and animal species depending on wetlands. In recognition of International Biodiversity Day on 22 May, the Convention on Wetlands calls for actions to reverse the loss of nature to be scaled up, as a foundation to build back better and achieve the objectives of the sustainable development agenda.
