Islamic Republic of Iran to celebrate 50th Anniversary of the Convention

In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands, the Islamic Republic of Iran is hosting an “International Ceremony on the Occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands". The Ramsar Convention on Wetlands was established in the Iranian city of Ramsar in 1971.
 
The event, celebrating five decades of efforts to preserve and use wetlands wisely, will be hosted by the Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran in cooperation with the Head of Department of Environment and the participation of Resident Ambassadors, International Organization Representatives in Tehran and a statement from the Secretary General of the Convention. During the event, a Ramsar memorial stamp will be unveiled.
