The availability of adequate and predictable funding is essential for the effective implementation of the Convention and its mission to conserve wetlands and reverse their loss and degradation.
The Secretariat works actively with Contracting Parties, the private sector, foundations and multi-lateral funds to mobilize financial resources to support national and regional activities that promote the conservation, wise use and restoration of wetlands.
The resource mobilization activities of the Secretariat are guided by a list of fundraising priorities as established and approved by the Contracting Parties of the Convention.
