Lammert Hilarides is an expert in earth observation of wetlands from the Netherlands. He holds a degree in ecosystem biology from Wageningen University and works at Wetlands International, where he leverages earth observation to support the conservation and restoration of wetlands. He has (co-)authored multiple peer reviewed papers, reports and an STRP technical report on the topic. He has been a driving force in the Global Mangrove Watch project and the GEO-Wetlands Initiative, bringing together academic experts and experts from the field to apply the science, align activities and find synergies.
